12/10/2023 0 Comments Sites like obsidian portal![]() ![]() I can't see how to do something similar in Obsidian. Then when I click on the finance tag in Remnote, I get a Document-Rem called "Finance" with all rems I've tagged as #finance, which is so useful for me: I see which forms I've filed (also tagged with the date if I put them in a Daily Document) and to-do items I'd forgotten about. In Remnote I was working in my taxes today, and in my Daily Document tagged a rem as #finance, with a few items I've completed and some more to do. Backlinks in Obsidian don't seem to work the same. One thing I didn't seem much discussion is the portals in Remnote. I use both and somehow with they could be combined which isn't possible because then they wouldn't behave as they do. I view it as lesson learned and am sticking with Obsidian :) Oh also, I found that it froze often whenever my laptop screen kicked out, and had to be restarted. They looked a mess and needed a lot of formatting its export to markdown function is not 100% there yet. When I switched back to Obsidian a few weeks later, the new notes I had made in RemNote did not transfer over ok. When I transferred my md files from Obsidian to RemNote, they transferred perfectly. It's still in startup though and imo not worth the amount they're asking per month, considering the issues many are having with it. The concept is great, it looks nice, and it's linking system is super easy to use and effective. For me there was also a lot of general friction with it, which was frustrating. ![]() Also the app doesn't support foreign languages, nor can you turn spell checker off, so you're just left with a load of red wiggles. Remnote's very buggy, the app broke with the last update so people couldn't access their offline databases (afaik it's fine now).
